Children will gain hands-on experience with a variety of animals and learn about proper handling, feeding, housing, enrichment, and daily care while learning the important role these animals play in a sustainable Backyard HOAmstead.
DISCLAIMERS:
Adult supervision is required at all times during the workshop.
NO animals will be processed during the workshop. We encourage parents to discuss the role of animals and certain animal by-products as food sources with their children before attending.

Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking to reserve your consultation date and time.
Consultations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and are not confirmed until payment has been received.
Transportation fees, if applicable, will be added at the time of booking.
All workshop registrations are non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to a future workshop date. Transfer requests must be made at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. Each registration may be transferred once and must be used within 6 months of the original date.
You may also transfer your reservation to another person by notifying Backyard HOAmstead at least 48 hours in advance.
If Backyard HOAmstead cancels the workshop (ex. inclement weather - such as flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, sickness, emergency, etc.), you will be offered either a transfer to a future date or a full refund.
For the safety and comfort of all participants, children must arrive dressed appropriately for outdoor homestead, garden, and animal-related activities.
Required Attire:
• Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times. Sandals, flip-flops, Crocs with open heels, and bare feet are not permitted.
• Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor play, gardening, and interaction with animals.
• Clothing that can get dirty from soil, mulch, feed, water, or animal contact.
• Long hair should be tied back during activities involving animals, tools, or construction projects.
• Sun protection is encouraged, including hats, lightweight long sleeves, and sunscreen applied before arrival.
Please bring water and snacks as needed throughout the duration of the workshop(s).
Backyard HOAmstead reserves the right to restrict participation in certain activities if a participant is not dressed in a manner that allows safe participation.
I understand that participation in backyard homesteading, gardening, animal care, and outdoor educational activities involves inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated.
These risks may include, but are not limited to:
• Slips, trips, and falls
• Scratches, cuts, splinters, or minor injuries
• Exposure to dirt, dust, mud, insects, and plants
• Allergic reactions to plants, animals, insect bites, feed, hay, straw, or environmental conditions
• Animal-related injuries such as scratches, pecks, bites, kicks, or accidental contact
• Injuries associated with the use of hand tools and gardening equipment
• Exposure to heat, sun, rain, and other weather conditions
• Physical exertion associated with outdoor activities
I understand that every reasonable effort will be made to maintain a safe environment and provide appropriate supervision; however, accidents may occur.
I voluntarily choose to allow my child to participate in these activities and assume all risks associated with participation.
WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration for participation in the Backyard HOAmstead Summer Workshop(s), I, on behalf of myself, my child, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Backyard HOAmstead, its owners, instructors, volunteers, assistants, agents, and property owners from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from or related to participation in workshop activities, except to the extent caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
I understand and agree that participation is voluntary and that I assume responsibility for any risks associated with participation.
The safety of all participants is important. Parents/guardians must disclose any known allergies, medical conditions, behavioral concerns, or special accommodations that may affect participation.
Participants will be exposed to:
• Rabbits, ducks, and quail
• Animal feed, hay, straw, bedding materials, and dust
• Garden plants, flowers, herbs, vegetables, and compost
• Bees, wasps, mosquitoes, ants, and other insects
• Soil, mulch, and outdoor environmental allergens
Parents/guardians are responsible for informing Backyard HOAmstead of any allergies or medical conditions that may require special attention.
Backyard HOAmstead is a private residence and working homestead. Participants are expected to respect the privacy of the property, its owners, and all attendees.
Participants agree to:
Remain only in designated workshop areas unless invited elsewhere.
Treat all animals, gardens, and property with care and respect.
Refrain from opening gates, entering animal enclosures, or handling animals unless specifically instructed.
Respect that homesteading practices vary and may include livestock, poultry, meat rabbits, composting, and other agricultural activities that may not align with every individual's personal beliefs or preferences.
Be courteous and respectful toward the instructor and fellow participants. Disruptive, confrontational, or disrespectful behavior may result in removal from the workshop without a refund.
By attending this workshop, participants acknowledge and agree that photographs and video may be taken during the event for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes.
Participants are welcome to take photos and short videos for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise instructed.
Please be respectful of other participants and avoid disrupting demonstrations or blocking views while taking photos or videos.
Recording of the entire workshop, live streaming, or recording for commercial purposes is not permitted without prior written permission from Backyard HOAmstead.
By attending, participants grant Backyard HOAmstead permission to use photographs or video in which they may appear for use on websites, social media, printed materials, advertisements, and other promotional content without compensation.
If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please notify the instructor before the workshop begins. While reasonable efforts will be made to honor your request, incidental appearances in group photos or videos cannot be guaranteed.
